Think what you must about Texas people and our politics. But our flowers? Oh, our wildflowers!
Despite a harsh winter and little to no rain, the wildflowers are beginning their seasonal display, reminding everyone in sight why they deserve our attention, respect, and admiration.
Tough and oh so beautiful. Always worth the wait.

I'm so glad you're back!! Yours (and Jenny's at Rock Rose) are the first Bluebonnets I've seen! So good to have them back, too. I love your photos along the side--nice touch.
Thank you Tina! I've worn a path out to where my bluebonnets are. I'm always anxious to welcome them as the front runners to each year's wildflower display. Now if it will only rain!
Yay! You south Austin girls always get to have all the fun! I was south yesterday and saw some along the side of the road. Nothing here yet in NW Austin but it won't be long! I have exactly two plants blooming in my garden at the moment: one little violet bloom and the globe mallow has a smattering of orange blooms. It was a tough winter on my little garden but she's recovering. Glad to see you come up in the blog feed! I've missed you.
Cat - it is good of you to drop back by - I realize this blog has been dormant a good long while. This winter isn't quite finished with us yet but the blooms appearing here and there are reassuring that Spring is on the way.
